*Medicine Cabinets

This bathroom wall cabinet fits perfectly above our powder room toilet with nice capacity inside the cabinet as well as the open shelf. The cabinet construction is top quality having a sturdy structure, excellent finishes, and superior hinge hardware. Esthetically, it is a beautiful cabinet as well. Even the mounting bar that the cabinet sits upon is a genius design as the cabinet requires no drilled holes in the cabinet unit to mount it safely on the wall. However, my only caution is the use of the oversized plastic mollies that come with the product used for installing the mounting bar to the wall when there are no studs. There are no instructions for the size of the hole needed to be drilled, which can cause problems if the holes drilled are too small or too large. The sheer weight of the cabinet plus its contents require these plastic mollies to be humongous in order to bear the weight. Instead, I used smaller more compact metal molly anchors because they can bear more weight than the plastic mollies provided with the cabinet kit while being shorter and having less girth. Plus, I know the exact drill bit size needed to make the appropriate size hole to suit the metal mollies.

I needed a cabinet in our guest bathroom but buying an unfinished cabinet from HD was pretty pricey, and the finished ones were double the cost. So I opted for this product. It arrived broken down, needing assembly. The instructions are pretty easy to follow. Just follow the numbers, not complicated at all. It should take you about an hour the 1st go around. I would also advise to use a dab of wood glue on the wooden dowels. The cabinet mounts on a MDF board which allows you to move the cabinet side to side. This however does not lock the cabinet in place, it will still move. I used a 1 in wood screw that self tapped to lock the cabinet in place. All in all this is a nice well made cabinet with slow close doors.

The storage is limited. You can’t put too much in it. But it was just enough for what I needed and saved me from having to use one of those awkward “behind the toilet storage cabinets.”
